Off the Beaten Track
... much more than a three-star hotel ...
Hidden away in a charming patchwork grid of quiet backstreets, the "WhO" (Windsor hotel Opera) is located just behind the extremely busy Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière in one of the most popular neighbourhoods of Paris. Behind its simple but flowery façade this recently renovated and completely refurbished high-quality 3-star hotel is rapidly gaining an enviable reputation for its stylish accommodation and the caring direction of Vincent - the ever-present owner - who will ensure your stay here is completely enjoyable, creating a warm but very informal atmosphere with an unbeatable amazing value. All the Hotel Windsor Opera Paris rooms are a good size and are equipped with the latest modern facilities including a superb ensuite bathroom with either shower or bath, are decorated with comfortable furnishings and quality fabrics, and are spotlessly clean. The superb morning buffet-breakfast is filled with friendly conversation, attended by helpful and welcoming English-speaking staff.
When it comes to kindness, hospitality and professionalism, Vincent remains indeed amongst the best and most experienced hoteliers. If you aren't looking for an ordinary hotel, but for tranquillity, comfort and unaffected style, then the "WhO" is the perfect civilised pied-a-terre from which to explore these districts the Parisians like to keep for themselves.
Whether it is your first or tenth visit to Paris, and even though you are not a die hard Francophile, there is always the same thrill of pleasure and it is almost impossible not to fall in love with this wonderful living city that exudes romance and excites the senses. Paris is a moving theatre piece, a city of villages, and the stretch between Bonne Nouvelle (next to the hotel) and Richelieu Drouot metro stations will satisfy your cosmopolitan urges. Strolling the boulevards' wide sidewalks will give you a fascinating view of the multi-cultural streetlife with a touch of the bohemian.
Although the Hotel Windsor Opera Paris is officially located in the 10th arrondissement (which is said to be the least desirable by some misinformed journalists) the district has nevertheless became ideal for trendsetters and the insatiably curious, with one of the best brasseries (FLO), the legendary Folies Bergère, the Wax Museum, the Grand Rex, and the numerous stylish and well preserved Passages or Galeries for shopping (Belle-Epoque memorabilia, old stamps or postcards collector etc..).
In fact, most of these are in the 9th arrondissement (neighborhood) ... that starts just a few steps from the Hotel Windsor Opera Paris!
