This traditional seaside inn dating back to the 1850s recently changed owners. Michèle and Bruce bought Ralph Waldo Emerson Inn in August 1998
and renamed it "Emerson Inn by the Sea". They live there and are
redecorating the place and emphasizing quality service with the staff.
Bruce has a Master's degree in hotel administration from Cornell University and has worked before for a group of fine dining restaurants in Naples, Florida. So no doubt Emerson Inn will soon become a real Gourmet restaurant. The oceanfront hotel is already unique with personal service in a residential neighborhood. Its classic charm has attracted connaisseurs from various parts of the old world as the Inn really combines modern comfort with the unspoiled atmosphere of an earlier, more gracious era. Nearly all the rooms are with sea views and there is mainly a superb top floor suite with king bed, sitting area, and private oceanfront balcony to reserve long time ahead. Numerous nature walks may be enjoyed along the oceanfront as well as the always popular whale watches. Halibut Point State Park features the history of the Rockport Quarries and downtown Rockport has a positively charming harbour that is surrounded by many attractive shops and art galleries. |
